April 1, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Ozark Zymurgists March Chapter Meeting Minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recorded by: Darin Dickson, Secretary<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recorded on: Tuesday 4\/1\/2025 @ New Province Brewing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Membership Attendance: 17 of 22 Present&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Darin Dickson, Doc Farmer, Marsha Farmer, Justin Hart, James Harvey, David Johnson, Dave Kapple, Mike Lewis, Larry McCallister, Steve Offutt, Kevin Richter, Alex Smith, Geoff Allen, Ric Bailey, Randy Germann, Ken Gill, Jason Kanak<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Guest Attendance:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meeting was called to order at 7:10 and began with a toast from James Harvey (Social Chair).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Beer introductions commenced after the toast.\u00a0 25 beers were introduced from 15 brewers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Motion was made by James Harvey and seconded by Doc Farmer to approve the minutes from the March 2025 Chapter Meeting.\u00a0 <strong>Motion carried unanimously.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Justin Hart presented a financial report and announced he had collected dues from 22 members.\u00a0 We have $4,178.03 on hand. 11 members are also paid AHA members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Old Business began at 7:20\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>King for a Day: <\/strong>\u00a0Shared impressions of King for a Day event at New Province.\u00a0 Fun was had by all.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Oktoberfest Trip Update: <\/strong>\u00a0James gave an update and shared his impressions of Bamburg, one of the stops on the trip.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>April Social:\u00a0 <\/strong>Will be held at Bentonville Brewing on 4\/12\/25 during Home Brew 2025 for the Women\u2019s Shelter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Barrel Project: <\/strong>\u00a0Doc gave an update and alerted the membership that the next swap will occur on April 5th around 10am at his place.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Off Flavor Recap: <\/strong>\u00a0David Johnson gave an update from the second session.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Spring Charity Event: <\/strong>\u00a0Mike Lewis made a motion to hold the Spring event and authorize James Harvey to coordinate and set the date.\u00a0 Justin Hart seconded.\u00a0 <strong>Motion carried unanimously.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Iron Brewer: <\/strong>\u00a0David Johnson reminded the membership about the upcoming categories.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>BJCP Study Group: <\/strong>\u00a0David Johnson reminded everyone of the idea to form a BJCP study group and possible scholarship for members interested in pursuing BJCP certification.\u00a0 Please reach out to David if you are interested.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New Business began at 7:34\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>National Homebrew Competition, Indianapolis, IN: <\/strong>\u00a0Doc Farmer won second place in the Belgian Ale category.\u00a0 Congrats Doc!!!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No new business from the floor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Education Session began at 7:50\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>David Johnson spoke about Gluten Free Brewing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brewer of the Month\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Detailed in BOTY Tracker on ozarkzymurgists.com<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meeting adjourned at 8:27pm by Mike Lewis (President)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ozark Zymurgists March Chapter Meeting Minutes Recorded by: Darin Dickson, Secretary Recorded on: Tuesday 4\/1\/2025 @ New Province Brewing Membership Attendance: 17 of 22 Present&nbsp;
